Southeast Louisiana Adaptation Forum Membership Application Opens at Spring 2026 Member Meet-Up
Nearly 100 professionals and advocates were in attendance as the Southeast Louisiana Adaptation Forum gathered on Wednesday, April 22nd to network, learn, and build momentum among professionals working to implement green infrastructure. The evening included an overview of Forum Membership, unveiling of the Data Science Working Group, a tour of the Lafitte Greenway, and activities to foster Member engagement and new connections.
The Organizing Committee for the Forum announced that Membership in the Forum is now officially live! All are encouraged to submit their Organizational Membership and Individual Membership applications. Many of the Forum’s future activities – including Convenings and Member Meet-Ups – will be accessible only to Members, so sign up today! Membership is free, and the application is quick to fill out.
Attendees at the Spring 2026 Member Meet-Up got to know one another through playing SELAAF Bingo, and we were impressed to see some folks finding someone to sign every square! The Organizing Committee also welcomed attendees at tables with more information on Membership and the emerging Data Science Working Group while guests mingled over beverages from our hosts at Skeeta Hawk Brewing and delicious tacos from Blue Pot Pop Up.
The Data Science Working Group is forming now to develop a path towards a regional data portal and integrated regional water information system that combines scientific data and community expertise to accelerate knowledge into action. More information about the Working Group is available in the slide deck from the Member Meet-Up.
Along with building cross-sector and regional connections, Forum Member Meet-Ups are designed to highlight successful relevant projects, and we were thrilled to highlight the Lafitte Greenway, including reforestation, green infrastructure, Complete Streets art, and urban agriculture efforts within a short distance of the event location. Thanks to Lafitte Greenway Partnership for leading the tour!
The 2026 Spring Member Meet-Up exemplified the benefits of Membership, and the short program explained the benefits of Membership even further. Membership is open to Organizations and Individuals who want to stay engaged, informed, and connected. Read more thoughts about Membership from Natalie Manning, one of the Forum’s Organizing Committee Members, below, and sign up today!
